Get To Know Our Services
At Aemilius Care, we offer a wide range of compassionate, person-centred support designed to help individuals live safely, confidently, and independently at home. Each service expands into its own dedicated page when clicked.

Domiciliary (Home) Care
Our Home Care service provides friendly, reliable support with daily routines — including personal care, medication prompts, meal preparation, companionship, and welfare checks. Carers tailor every visit to individual needs to ensure comfort, dignity, and independence.

Reablement & Rehabilitation Support
We work closely with NHS and community rehabilitation teams to support recovery following illness, injury, or a hospital stay. Our carers help individuals regain mobility, confidence, and independence at home through structured routines and gentle rehabilitation support.

Complex / Specialist Support
For individuals with long-term conditions, neurological illness, mobility challenges, or advanced care needs, we offer one-to-one specialist support aligned with district nurse and community healthcare plans. Care is structured, monitored, and adapted to ensure safety, comfort, and stability.

End-of-Life (EoL) Care
We provide sensitive, dignified support for individuals approaching end-of-life. When appropriate, we coordinate closely with hospice partners (such as Marie Curie) to ensure seamless transitions, emotional support, and compassionate comfort for both the individual and their family.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of care do you provide?
We offer two main services: Home Care and Complex Care. Home Care supports daily routines — such as washing, dressing, meals, medication prompts, and companionship. Complex Care offers one-to-one specialist support for people living with long-term conditions, mobility challenges, or those needing palliative or end-of-life care. Every plan is personalised to each individual.
How quickly can care begin?
Most care packages can start within a few days, depending on your needs. We begin with a free home visit to understand your circumstances, preferences, and routines. From there, we create a tailored care plan and arrange a start date that works for you and your family.
Are your carers trained and DBS checked?
Yes. All Aemilius Care carers are fully DBS checked, insured, and receive ongoing training in areas such as safeguarding, medication support, personal care, and specialist complex care needs. We only hire people who demonstrate genuine warmth, compassion, and professionalism
Can I choose the times of my visits?
Absolutely. We build your care around your routine — not the other way around.
We offer morning, lunch, and evening visits, seven days a week, and can adjust visit times as your needs change.
Do you support people with complex medical or mobility needs?
Yes. Our Complex Care service provides specialist one-to-one support for individuals living with neurological conditions, long-term illnesses, injury recovery, dementia, learning disabilities, or palliative care requirements. We work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure safety, comfort, and continuity.
How far do you travel for home care?
We provide care across Okehampton and a 15-mile radius, supporting nearby villages and local communities. This helps us keep visits reliable, punctual, and consistent — which families tell us makes a big difference.
How do you match carers with clients?
We take time to learn about the person receiving care — their personality, routines, preferences, and any specialist needs. We then match them with a carer who suits their requirements and helps them feel relaxed and comfortable. Many families tell us these matches feel more like long-term companionship than traditional support.
